COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM is a dermatological antibiotic medication, primarily used to treat bacterial skin infections, impetigo, rosacea, and bacterial vaginal infection (bacterial vaginosis). Bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria invades and affects the tissues on skin. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. Impetigo is a contagious (spread by contact) infection that causes red sores on the face. Rosacea is a skin disease that causes redness, flushing, and pimples on the face.
COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM is composed of two antibiotics: Mupirocin and Metronidazole. Mupirocin is an antibacterial drug. It prevents the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out its vital functions, thus preventing bacterial growth. Metronidazole belongs to the class of drugs called nitroimidazole antimicrobials. It exerts bactericidal (kills bacteria) action and inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis and cell growth.
Use COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM as suggested by the doctor. COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM is for external use only. Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose that suits your infection. Common side effects of COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM include itching, burning sensation, irritation and redness at the application site. COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM treats various bacterial skin infections, impetigo, rosacea, and bacterial vaginal infection. It consists of Mupirocin and Metronidazole. Mupirocin is an antibiotic and prevents the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out its vital functions. It effectively treats impetigo caused due to Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Streptococcus pyogenes (S. pyogenes). Metronidazole is an antibacterial drug that treats insect bites, skin ulcers, bed sores, wounds and other bacterial and parasitic infections. It inhibits the DNA synthesis of bacteria and certain parasites and prevent their cell growth.
COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM is for external use only. Avoid contact of COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM with eyes, nose, and mouth. Rinse it off with water thoroughly if you get the medicine accidentally in these areas. Avoid applying COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM on sunburns, lesions, blisters, and open wounds. Cover the affected areas with a dressing or bandage only if the doctor advised you to do so. COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM is not recommended for use in diaper rash, which is often caused due to fungus. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should use COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM only with proper doctor consultation and caution. COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM is recommended for children above two months of age only with a doctor’s advice. Do not store COMUPIMET POWDER 5GM above 25°C.
