About CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION

CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION belongs to a class of medications called “Corticosteroids” prescribed for various allergic and inflammatory conditions, including severe illnesses like cancer and autoimmune diseases. CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION primarily treats and reduces symptoms of a wide range of inflammation, allergic disorders, autoimmune diseases, infections, cancer and flare-ups of ongoing illnesses. CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION is used as an anti-inflammatory medication (to decrease excess fluid overload) associated with spine and brain tumour (cancer), gastrointestinal inflammation disease (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, piles), joint disorder (rheumatoid arthritis), allergies (asthma), autoimmune diseases (lupus) and to enhance appetite in the cancer patients. In addition to this, CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION also reduces the eye/ear inflammation.

CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION contains 'Hydrocortisone' usually prescribed as a short-term medication to treat and prevent various inflammation in the body. Corticosteroids are naturally found in our body and intake of CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION boost our body with an extra corticosteroid to treat multiple illnesses, including inflammation and allergies in the body. CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation/swelling and redness by preventing infection-fighting white blood cells (WBCs) from travelling to the area of swelling in your body. Besides this, it also blocks chemical messenger in the brain that is responsible for causing inflammation and pain, helping reduce symptoms in various diseases. Thereby, it lowers inflammation, which could otherwise make the condition worse. Effectively, CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION helps to treat a wide range of inflammatory, allergic and autoimmune diseases.

CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION contains ‘Hydrocortisone’ available in oral form, injection, inhalers and spray, cream, ointment, eyes drops, foam or suppositories. CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION must be taken regularly to get the maximum benefit of CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION. Most of the side effects of CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. Common side effects include stomach upset, mood changes, weight gain, oral thrush (prone to fungal infection). However, if the side effects are persistent and worsen, reach out to your doctor.

Please consult your doctor before taking CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION if you are planning to get pregnant, are pregnant or breastfeeding as CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION is not recommended usually unless prescribed by the doctor.

Uses of CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION

Directions for Use

Tablet form: It should be taken with a meal or just after a meal with plenty of water to avoid upset stomach in dose and duration prescribed by a doctor.Injection form: Injection should only be given at the hospital by an expert.Buccal tablets: Put CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION directly on the top of your mouth ulcer. Leave the tablet to dissolve slowly against the ulcer. Do not swallow or suck the CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION (buccal tablet).Inhaler: Breathe in slowly and hold the CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION with the mouthpiece down. Now, place your lips around the mouthpiece for a tight seal. As you start slowly to breathe in through your mouth, press down on the inhaler one time. Keep breathing deeply in a slow manner.Topical (cream/ointment): Take a small amount of CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION on the fingertip and apply as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area. Wash your hands before and after using CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION if hands are not the affected area to prevent the spread of infection.

Side Effects of CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION

Like all medicines, CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common side effects include stomach upset, mood changes, weight gain, oral thrush (prone to fungal infection). If you are using the injection form of CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION, it may cause application site reactions, which will disappear soon. Most of the side effects of CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. If you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy, or breastfeeding, it is recommended usually not to take CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION unless prescribed by the doctor. Long term use of CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION in children's should be avoided as it may lead to slow growth. Do not abruptly stop taking CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION as you might feel a headache or problem with vision, fever, pain in muscles, which are withdrawal symptoms of CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION. Consult your doctor and your dose be lowered gradually to avoid any withdrawal symptoms. While taking CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION, do not contact anyone who has shingles, chickenpox, or measles. If you accidentally come in contact with any person having them, please inform your doctor immediately as it requires special treatment if you have not had these illnesses. Intake of alcohol should be limited as it may lead to stomach ulcers when taken along with CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION. Inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney disease, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis), migraine (severe headache), depression, epilepsy (frequent fits), blood cancer, tuberculosis (TB), high blood pressure or heart problem. If you have had an accident, need to undergo a scheduled surgery, need a vaccination (especially a live vaccination), tell this to doctor that you are taking CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION as it needs to be stopped in all of the above conditions.

  • Alcohol

    Alcohol is not known to cause any unpleasant side effects if taken along with CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION. But intake of alcohol with CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION may damage your liver. So intake of CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION should be avoided with CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION.

  • Pregnancy

    CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION is a category C pregnancy drug, using CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION during pregnancy may affect the unborn baby. Please consult your doctor before taking CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION if you are pregnant or planning to conceive.

  • Breast Feeding

    CORTISUM 100MG INJECTION is known to pass through the breast milk. So, it is recommended not to be taken during breastfeeding. However, your doctor may prescribe it for you during breast-feeding if he/she feels that the benefit to you outweighs the risk.   • Driving

  • Liver
