Defza 12 Tablet is used to treat Duchene muscular dystrophy in adults and children above 2 years of age. It contains Deflazacort, which binds to immune cells, resulting in the inhibition of inflammation and autoimmune diseases that occur due to the production of chemicals called cytokines responsible for inflammation. About Defza 12 Tablet

Defza 12 Tablet is used to treat Duchene muscular dystrophy in adults and children above 2 years of age. Autoimmune disease is a health disorder in which the immune system doesn't work normally and is unable to distinguish between foreign cells and native cells. This condition results in an immune system that starts to attack native cells and organs, leading to medical problems like Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Defza 12 Tablet is an immunosuppressive drug that works by binding to immune system cells and turns off the receptors that lead to their abnormal functioning or damaging effects. Defza 12 Tablet binds to immune cells, resulting in the inhibition of inflammation and autoimmune diseases that occur due to the production of chemicals called cytokines, which are responsible for inflammation. Thus, Defza 12 Tablet is beneficial in autoimmune diseases and inflammation that cause harm to various organs, especially in joints with arthritis and the skin in psoriasis. Defza 12 Tablet makes organ transplantation possible and treats muscle disorders like Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Defza 12 Tablet is available in both oral tablet and suspension dosage forms. The tablet form of Defza 12 Tablet can be taken with or without food and swallowed whole with a water glass. Do not crush, chew or break it. The liquid form of Defza 12 Tablet can be taken as directed by your doctor, using a measuring cup. Your doctor will recommend how often you take Defza 12 Tablet based on your medical condition. Some people may experience nausea, chest pain, vomiting, drowsiness, headaches, dizziness, skin rashes, tremors, nervousness, diarrhoea, and fast heartbeats. Most of the side effects of Defza 12 Tablet do not require medical attention and usually resolve on their own over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. Do not quit taking deflazacort without consulting your physician. Symptoms such as loss of appetite, stomach upset, vomiting, drowsiness, confusion, headache, fever, joint and muscle pain, peeling skin, and weight loss may occur when the medication is stopped suddenly.

Before starting Defza 12 Tablet, please inform your doctor that you are allergic or hypersensitive to Defza 12 Tablet. Extra care is needed when a patient has an existing infection being treated (systemic infection) or has recently received live virus vaccines. A doctor's consultation is required as Defza 12 Tablet is not safe to use during pregnancy.

• Anti-Inflammatory Treatment: Defza 12 Tablet reduces inflammation and relieves symptoms associated with conditions like arthritis, bursitis, and tendinitis.
• Autoimmune Disorders Management: Defza 12 Tablet helps to manage autoimmune diseases like lupus and multiple sclerosis by suppressing the immune response.

Directions for Use

What if I have taken an overdose of Defza 12 Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Defza 12 Tablet as it may cause overdose. If you suspect you have taken overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

Drug Warnings

Patients with a history of tuberculosis (TB), heart disease or heart failure stomach disorders (gastritis, peptic ulcer), diabetes (including family history), osteoporosis (bone disease), myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness), depression, mental distress, history of muscular problems caused by corticosteroids, kidney and liver dysfunction (including hepatic insufficiency and cirrhosis), should consult a doctor before using Defza 12 Tablet.  This medicine is not recommended for children less than 5 years of age, lactating mothers and pregnant women. Avoid going near people who are sick or infected while using Defza 12 Tablet. Before taking Defza 12 Tablet for at least, 4-6 weeks do not take any live vaccine as it may cause severe allergic reactions.
