About Ditide Tablet

Ditide Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called diuretics indicated in the treatment of mild to moderate high blood pressure. It may also be used to treat oedema (build-up of fluid in the body). High blood pressure is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels. 

Ditide Tablet contains Triamterene and Benzthiazide, which help the kidneys remove water from the body and lower blood pressure. 

In some cases, Ditide Tablet may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and weakness. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Do not take Ditide Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Ditide Tablet  is not recommended for children below 12 years. Keep the doctor informed about your health condition and medications to avoid unpleasant side effects/interactions.

Uses of Ditide Tablet

Ditide Tablet is used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and oedema. The detailed uses of Ditide Tablet are as follows:<br/>• Hypertension (high blood pressure): Ditide Tablet is used in the treatment of Hypertension.<br/>• Treatment of Edema (fluid retention):Ditide Tablet is used to treat edema (fluid retention) especially in conditions like heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney disorders.<br/>

Directions for Use

• Ditide Tablet can be taken with or without food. However, taking it with food may help reduce stomach upset.• It is usually taken 3 times daily at the same time each day or as prescribed by your doctor.• Swallow Ditide Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.• Do not crush, chew, or break it.

Storage

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.• Keep Ditide Tablet out of reach and sight of children. • Non cold chain - To be stored in cool places at 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.

What if I have taken an overdose of Ditide Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Taking more medication will not improve your symptoms; instead, they may cause poisoning or serious side effects. If you think there has been an overdose, call your doctor or get medical care right away.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Ditide Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components, if you have severe liver or kidney problems, high levels of potassium or calcium in the blood, Addison's disease, diabetic ketoacidosis, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Inform the doctor if you have diabetes, liver or kidney problems, difficulty passing urine,  gout, or pancreatitis. Let the doctor know if you take other medicines, including supplements or herbal products.
