Donyx 25 Tablet belongs to the class of medicines called sedating antihistamines indicated in the short-term treatment of insomnia. Donyx 25 Tablet contains Doxylamine, which works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance that causes allergy symptoms. Thereby, Donyx 25 Tablet helps treats symptoms of the common cold. Donyx 25 Tablet causes the central nervous system to slow down; this helps provide relief from insomnia.

What if I have taken an overdose of Donyx 25 Tablet

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Donyx 25 Tablet may include dizziness, dry mouth, enlarged pupils, irregular heartbeat or pulse, lightheadedness, mental confusion, palpitations, restlessness, sensation of spinning or feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings, and sleepiness. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe any symptoms or think you have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

Do not take Donyx 25 Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have/had asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema (lung disease that causes shortness of breath), breathing problems, glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye), ulcers, heart disease, thyroid problems, depression, seizures, high blood pressure, liver or kidney problems. Taking Donyx 25 Tablet with tranylcypromine can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome(a condition in which a chemical called serotonin increase in your body).

How to manage the interaction:
There may be a possibility of interaction between Donyx 25 Tablet and Tranylcypromine, but can be taken together if prescribed by a doctor. However, consult a doctor if you experience confusion, hallucination(seeing and hearing things that do not exist), fits, blood pressure alteration, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering or shaking, blurred vision, pain in the muscles or stiffness, incoordination, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
