Doxal Tablet is used to treat nausea (feeling sick) and vomiting (being sick) during pregnancy. Morning sickness (nausea and vomiting during pregnancy) is a common symptom of pregnancy. In some cases, pregnant women experience excessive nausea and vomiting that progresses to a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum. It causes electrolyte imbalances and weight loss in pregnant women. 

Doxal Tablet is a combination of two drugs: Doxylamine and Pyridoxine (vitamin B6). Doxylamine belongs to the class of antihistamines that works by blocking the natural chemical (histamine) in the body, thereby preventing nausea and vomiting. Pyridoxine/Vitamin B6 deficiency may cause nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Pyridoxine works by increasing the level of vitamin B6 in the body and helps in treating nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.

Take Doxal Tablet as prescribed. You are advised to take Doxal Tablet as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as drowsiness, constipation, dizziness, or blurred vision. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

If you are allergic to Doxal Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Doxal Tablet should not be taken by breastfeeding mothers as it passes into breast milk. Doxal Tablet should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Doxal Tablet may cause dizziness; therefore, drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Doxal Tablet as it could lead to increased dizziness. If you are taking MAO inhibitors, inform your doctor, as taking them along with Doxal Tablet may cause unpleasant side effects.

• Doxal Tablet can be taken on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. • It is usually taken once daily at bedtime. However, your doctor may recommend taking it 2-3 times daily based on the severity of your symptoms. • Swallow Doxal Tablet as a whole with a glass of water. • Do not break, chew, or crush it.
