Doxcef DT 100 mg Tablet belongs to the group of cephalosporin antibiotics indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Doxcef DT 100 mg Tablet does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.
Doxcef DT 100 mg Tablet contains 'Cefpodoxime', which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Doxcef DT 100 mg Tablet works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, Doxcef DT 100 mg Tablet kills the bacteria and helps in treating bacterial infections.
In some cases, Doxcef DT 100 mg Tablet may cause side effects such as headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), skin rash and abdominal pain.
