info

Doxiflo-M Tablet is used to treat and prevent asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD). It contains Doxofylline and Montelukast, which works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs. It treats the airflow obstruction in the lungs, thereby relieving chest tightness, wheezing and cough to make breathing easier. Also, it blocks the leukotrienes (chemicals released in response when a body comes in contact with an allergen), thereby reducing inflammation and swelling in the nose. It also inhibits bronchoconstriction (narrowing of airways in the lungs that lead to breathing difficulties). It may cause common side effects such as fever, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain/epigastric pain, headache, insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), irritation, sore throat, increased heart rate and flu-like symptoms.

About Doxiflo-M Tablet

Doxiflo-M Tablet is a prescription medication used to prevent and manage the symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is designed to relieve long-term breathing difficulties by keeping your airways open and reducing swelling in the lungs.

For this medicine to work effectively, you must take it consistently every day, even when you feel perfectly fine. It is typically taken once daily, with or without food, ideally at the same time each day. Making healthy adjustments, such as staying away from smoke and dust, can significantly improve how well this medicine works for you.

While taking Doxiflo-M Tablet , you might experience mild side effects like a mild headache, nausea, or an upset stomach. These symptoms usually fade as your body gets used to the medication, but if you experience a very fast heartbeat, severe dizziness, or breathing trouble, contact your doctor right away.

Do not take this if you have had a severe allergic reaction to similar airway-opening medicines in the past. You should discuss your medical history with your doctor before starting this medication, especially if you have heart rhythm issues, high blood pressure, active stomach ulcers, or severe liver disease.

This medicine can interact with certain substances; for instance, drinking alcohol or smoking can change how your body processes it, which may either reduce its effectiveness or increase the risk of side effects. Always let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to breastfeed, or are caring for an elderly patient, as they may require extra monitoring.

Uses of Doxiflo-M Tablet

Doxiflo-M Tablet is used to manage the following respiratory conditions:

  • Asthma: Doxiflo-M Tablet helps prevent asthma attacks by stopping the chemical triggers that cause sudden airway swelling and tightening, keeping your breathing stable over time.
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): This medicine may be prescribed by your doctor to help manage symptoms of chronic bronchitis or emphysema in selected patients. However, montelukast is not routinely recommended for COPD, and the decision to use this combination depends on your individual clinical condition.

Key Benefits

The main benefit of Doxiflo-M Tablet is that it helps you breathe more comfortably throughout the day and night. By targeting two different causes of breathing trouble, it provides comprehensive, long-term relief.

  • Improves Breathing: Helps relax the airways, reducing chest tightness and making breathing easier.
  • Reduces Respiratory Flare-Ups: Regular use helps lower the frequency of asthma symptoms and COPD exacerbations.
  • Supports Better Sleep: Helps reduce nighttime breathing symptoms, allowing more restful sleep.
  • Improves Daily Activities: Better symptom control helps you stay active with less breathlessness and fatigue.

How Doxiflo-M Tablet Works

Doxiflo-M Tablet contains doxofylline and montelukast, which work together to improve breathing and help manage asthma and other respiratory conditions. Doxofylline is a xanthine bronchodilator that works mainly by inhibiting phosphodiesterase (PDE) enzymes, increasing the level of cyclic AMP (cAMP) inside airway smooth muscle cells. This relaxes the muscles surrounding the airways, helping them remain open and making breathing easier. Montelukast is a selective leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks the action of leukotrienes, natural chemicals responsible for airway inflammation, swelling, mucus production, and tightening of the airway muscles. By preventing these effects, montelukast helps reduce airway inflammation and keep the airways open. Together, these actions help improve airflow, reduce airway inflammation, and provide better long-term control of respiratory symptoms.
