Doxylab Capsule is used to treat a cough. The detailed uses of Doxylab Capsule are as follows:

• Cough Relief: Doxylab Capsule treats productive coughs and provides relief from respiratory congestion.
• Mucolytic Action: Doxylab Capsule breaks down and thins mucus, making it easier to cough up and thereby helping to relieve respiratory congestion.
• Bronchial Distress: Doxylab Capsule can relieve bronchial distress by reducing inflammation and clearing mucus, benefiting conditions like bronchitis.
• Support for Respiratory Conditions: Doxylab Capsule supports treatment for chronic respiratory conditions, such as asthma and COPD, by improving airflow and reducing airway obstruction.

Doxylab Capsule consists of Doxycycline (an antibiotic) and Ambroxol (dilutes a viscous cough). Doxycycline belongs to a category of antibiotic medicines that inhibit bacterial growth by blocking the protein synthesis process necessary for bacterial cell growth. As a result, bacterial cells are not able to reproduce and grow. It is a bacteriostatic antibiotic, i.e. it stops the growth of bacteria but does not necessarily kill them.  On the other hand, Ambroxol is an 'expectorant' (promoting the secretion of sputum and cough) and a 'mucolytic agent' (making sputum less viscous) to facilitate breathing in asthma and COPD patients who experience difficulty breathing.

• Take Doxylab Capsule with food to avoid stomach upset or as advised by a doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication, to ensure the safety.
• Swallow the medicine as a whole with glass of water.
• Do not crush, break, or chew it.

• Take Doxylab Capsule  as directed by the doctor and at regular intervals. Do not use other over-the-counter medications, herbal supplements, or vitamins without informing your pharmacist or doctor when you take Doxylab Capsule .
• Identify your triggers, such as allergens like pollen, dust, and certain food items, that exacerbate your asthma.
• Quit smoking and avoid passive smoking. Smoking also reduces the effectiveness of the medicine.
• Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly to strengthen your breathing muscles and boost your immune system.
• Learning breathing exercises will help you move more air in and out of your lungs.
• Drink warm fluids while you take Doxylab Capsule to help loosen congestion and lubricate the throat.

Inform your doctor if you have any known allergies to medications. Please inform your doctor if you have a history of heart, liver, or kidney disease. Also, tell your doctor if you have a stomach ulcer, seizure (fits), high blood pressure, and diabetes before taking Doxylab Capsule . Doxylab Capsule causes hypokalaemia (low potassium levels in the blood); therefore, it should be used with caution in patients with bronchospasm. Special precautions should be taken in patients with hyperthyroidism and epilepsy. Doxylab Capsule can cause a rise in blood glucose levels. Hence, monitor your blood glucose levels if you have diabetes and inform your doctor so that the dose can be adjusted accordingly. Let your doctor know if you plan to become pregnant or are already pregnant and a lactating mother. If you unexpectedly go into early labour or premature labour (before 9 months) or threatened abortion, do not use Doxylab Capsule and consult a doctor.
