ENTEROMYCETIN OTIC 5% EAR DROPS is a combination drug containing: Chloramphenicol (antibiotic) and Benzocaine (local anaesthetic). Chloramphenicol works by interfering with the formation of essential proteins required for bacterial growth. Benzocaine blocks the pain signals from the nerves to the brain, numbing the area and relieving pain. Collectively, both of them help reduce ear pain.
ENTEROMYCETIN OTIC 5% EAR DROPS is for otic (ear) use only. Depending on your medical condition, you are advised to use ENTEROMYCETIN OTIC 5% EAR DROPS for as long as your doctor prescribes it. In some cases, you may experience specific common side effects such as redness, flaking of the skin, stinging, burning or itching sensations. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Drug-Drug Interactions: ENTEROMYCETIN OTIC 5% EAR DROPS may interact with an anti-cancer agent (methotrexate), an immune suppressant (azathioprine), an antiviral drug (ritonavir), a medication used to treat HIV (cobicistat), painkillers (acetaminophen), and an antibiotic (cotrimoxazole).
