About ETOSID 100MG INJECTION 5ML

ETOSID 100MG INJECTION 5ML belongs to a class of chemotherapy drugs used to treat various cancer conditions, including testicular tumours or cancer of the testicles, lung cancer (small cell lung cancer; SCLC). Besides this, it can also be used in treating Monoblastic leukaemia (AML M5) and acute myelomonoblastic leukaemia (AML M4). Cancer is a genetic change in which our cells divide uncontrollably and spread into surrounding tissues.

ETOSID 100MG INJECTION 5ML contains Etoposide, which is a podophyllotoxin derivative. It works by inhibiting an enzyme responsible for cancer cell proliferation and induces cell death (apoptosis). As a result, the growth and spread of cancer cells are stopped or slowed down.

ETOSID 100MG INJECTION 5ML will be administered by a qualified healthcare professional. Sometimes, ETOSID 100MG INJECTION 5ML may use certain side effects such as myelosuppression (bone marrow activity is decreased), leucopenia (reduction in the number of white cells in the blood), thrombocytopenia (deficiency of platelets), anaemia (deficiency of red cells), anorexia (lack or loss of appetite for food), fatigue (extreme tiredness), drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, alopecia, liver and kidney functional impairment, leukaemia, hypotension, haemorrhage, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, stomatitis (inflammation of the mucous membrane), hepatic dysfunction and increased bilirubin levels etc. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Inform your doctor if you are allergic or hypersensitive to any component present in the ETOSID 100MG INJECTION 5ML or if you are pregnant, plan to have a baby or are breastfeeding. You should not become pregnant or breastfeed while receiving an etoposide injection. If you become pregnant while on treatment with etoposide, call your doctor. Alcohol should be avoided during treatment with this medicine. You must not drive or operate machinery while receiving ETOSID 100MG INJECTION 5ML.

Medicinal Benefits

ETOSID 100MG INJECTION 5ML is a chemotherapeutic medication that contains Etoposide. It is primarily used with other medications to treat testicular cancer that has not improved or worsened after treatment with other medications or radiation therapy. Etoposide injection is also used in conjunction with other drugs to treat a certain kind of lung cancer (small cell lung cancer; SCLC). It can also be used to treat monoblastic leukaemia (AML M5) and acute myelomonoblastic leukaemia (AML M4). ETOSID 100MG INJECTION 5ML acts by blocking an enzyme that promotes cancer cell proliferation and induces cell death (apoptosis).
