Farostin-CV Tablet 6's is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections. It is used to treat skin, throat, ear, nose, teeth, and lung infections caused by bacteria. It is also used in the treatment of urinary tract, gynaecological and genital infections. A bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria enter and grow in the body. This bacteria can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. Farostin-CV Tablet 6's is effective in treating infections caused by bacteria only and does not treat viral infections like flu or common cold.

Farostin-CV Tablet 6's is a combination medicine containing Faropenem (beta-lactam antibiotic) and Clavulanic acid. Faropenem works by inhibiting the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) and causing damage to the bacterial cell wall. This eventually leads to the death of the bacterial cell and thus prevents the growth of bacterial infections. Clavulanic acid inhibits the beta-lactamase enzyme, which prevents bacteria from destroying the efficacy of faropenem. 

Farostin-CV Tablet 6's may cause certain side effects such as indigestion, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, headache, rashes, and stomach pain. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. Farostin-CV Tablet 6's should be taken as advised by your doctor. Do not take more than the prescribed dose of this medicine. The dose of the medicine will be decided by your healthcare professional depending upon the type and severity of the infection.

Farostin-CV Tablet 6's should be avoided if you are allergic to it or any other antibiotics. Let your doctor know your complete medical history and ongoing medications to rule out any side effects/interactions. Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, a family history of atopy (tendency to develop allergic reactions), glucose-galactose malabsorption, Lapp lactase deficiency, or galactose intolerance before taking Farostin-CV Tablet 6's. Farostin-CV Tablet 6's may cause vitamin K or vitamin B deficiency in some patients, especially in the elderly and in patients with poor oral intake. Avoid alcohol consumption during the treatment to prevent unpleasant side effects. Whether this medicine can be given to pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers is unknown. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• Make sure to drink more fluids to avoid dehydration.
• Avoid alcohol consumption and smoking for fast recovery.

Farostin-CV Tablet 6's should be avoided if you have any rare hereditary problems of Lapp lactase deficiency, galactose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption, as it contains lactose. Hence, inform your doctor about your complete medical history on priority.
