Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm

Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm is an antibiotic used to treat or prevent bladder infections. Bladder infection is mostly caused by a bacterial infection within the bladder.

Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm contains Fosfomycin, which inhibits the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) necessary for survival. Thus, it kills bacteria. Additionally, Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm reduces the attachment of bacteria to cells lining the urinary bladder, thereby preventing bladder infections.

In some cases, you may experience dizziness, headache, indigestion, and vulvovaginitis (swelling or infection of the vulva and vagina) as side effects of Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm. Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm is not recommended for children below 12 years of age.

Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney problems and patients undergoing hemodialysis (a process of purifying blood by filtering out extra fluids and wastes when the kidneys are not working). If you previously had diarrhoea caused by other antibiotics, inform your doctor before taking Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm.

Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm is used in the treatment of Bladder infection. The detailed uses of Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm are as follows:

• Treatment of Urinary Tract Infections: Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm is used to treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by susceptible bacteria.
• Treatment of Cystitis: Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm is utilized in managing cystitis, which is the inflammation of the bladder, often linked with bacterial infections.
• Prevention of Urinary Tract Infections: In some cases, Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm may be used preventively for patients at high risk of recurrent urinary tract infections.
• Post-Surgical UTI Prevention: Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm is used for post-surgical UTI prevention in patients undergoing certain procedures.

• Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm can be taken with or without food as advised by your doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safety.
• Swallow Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not chew, crush, or break it.

• Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm includes Fosfomycin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic that kills gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria that grow aerobically (in the presence of oxygen) and anaerobically (in the absence of oxygen).

• Additionally, Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm inhibits bacterial attachment to cells lining the urinary bladder, thereby preventing bladder infections caused by E. coli bacteria.

• Contact your doctor immediately if you notice blood in your stools or have severe stomach pain with diarrhoea.
• If you previously had diarrhoea caused by other antibiotics, inform your doctor before taking Fosidoz Sachet 8 gm.
