About Gabakon-Plus Tablet

Gabakon-Plus Tablet is used to treat neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is a chronic progressive nerve disease that causes nerve pain due to damaged sensory nerves. Symptoms include spontaneous, untriggered pain, unpleasant feeling, shooting, burning or stabbing pain, difficulty resting or sleeping and evoked pain (pain caused by events that are usually not painful). Gabakon-Plus Tablet may be used in the treatment of diabetic neuropathy, drug-induced neuropathy, alcoholic neuropathy, and trigeminal neuralgia.

Gabakon-Plus Tablet contains Gabapentin (anti-convulsant), mecobalamin (vitamin B12), and alpha-lipoic acid (antioxidant). Gabapentin modulates the calcium channel activity of the brain cells, thereby decreasing pain. Mecobalamin helps rejuvenate and protect damaged nerve cells by producing a substance called myelin. Alpha-lipoic acid helps provide a protective effect on the nerve tissues and the brain. Together, Gabakon-Plus Tablet helps provide relief from neuropathic pain caused due to nerve damage and other neurological disorders.

Take Gabakon-Plus Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, nausea and vomiting. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Consult your doctor before starting Gabakon-Plus Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Gabakon-Plus Tablet may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Limited information is available regarding the usage of Gabakon-Plus Tablet in children; please consult a doctor. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Gabakon-Plus Tablet as it could lead to increased dizziness and sleepiness.
