Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER contains Metoprolol succinate and Amlodipine. Metoprolol succinate works by slowing down the heart rate, thereby making it more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels, thereby improving blood flow. Together, Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER helps treat high blood pressure.

Take Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER as prescribed. In some cases, Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER may cause certain common side effects such as tiredness, dizziness, headache, ankle swelling and slow heart rate. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.

It is advisable to inform the doctor if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Metoprolol succinate and Amlodipine. It is used primarily to treat hypertension and to relax the blood vessels for seamless flow of blood. Metoprolol succinate is a beta-blocker that eases the symptoms of hypertension by blocking catecholamines that lead to increased pressure and heart rate. Drug-Drug Interactions: Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER may interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors, antiarrhythmic agents (quinidine, propafenone), anti-depressant (fluoxetine, paroxetine), anti-hypertensive (diltiazem, clonidine, verapamil), antibiotic (erythromycin), anti-fungal (ketoconazole, itraconazole), anti-viral (ritonavir), cardiac glycoside (digitalis), 

Drug-Food Interactions: Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER can interact with grapefruit juice, fish oil and castor oil.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with a known hypersensitivity disorder, shock, COPD, diabetes mellitus, heart failure, liver cirrhosis, myasthenia gravis, phaeochromocytoma, chronic diarrhoea, thromboembolic disorder, cardiovascular disorder and/or dry eyes.

• Limit the intake of salt in your diet.
• Cut back on foods that are high in fat and cholesterol.
• Eat more fruits, vegetables and whole-grain foods.
• Avoid taking Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER with grapefruit juice as there may be an interaction.
• Avoid tobacco use. Inform your doctor in case of marijuana use.
• Dress warmly, as Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER may cause cold extremities.

• In case you miss a dose of Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is too close to the next dose, revert to the original schedule. Do not ever take a double dose.
• If you accidentally take an extra dose of Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER, please inform your doctor immediately. Some of the common symptoms of an overdose can be low blood pressure, slow pulse rate, shortness of breath, low blood sugar, dizziness, feeling sick and blue discolouration of the skin.
• Do not discontinue taking Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER abruptly or without the advice of the physician.
• Please know that your doctor may order blood tests to check your tolerance and need of Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER.
• Genericart Amlodipine Besylate+Metoprolol Succinate 5mg/25mg Tablet ER should be used with caution in case of those over 80 or under 40 years of age.
