About Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet

Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet is used in combination with oestrogen for hormone replacement therapy. Besides this, Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet also treats amenorrhoea (absence of menstrual periods) and prevents endometrial hyperplasia (thickened uterus lining). Also, it is indicated for the maintenance of pregnancy, threatened abortion and prevention of preterm labour. Hormone replacement therapy is a treatment to relieve menopause symptoms. It replaces hormones that are at a lower level as you approach menopause.

Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet contains progesterone, which works by replacing oestrogen and progesterone hormone levels in the body and providing relief from menopause symptoms.

You are advised to take Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dizziness, drowsiness, headache, mood changes, diarrhoea, vaginal discharge, joint pain, hot flashes (sudden feeling of warmth) or constipation. Most of these side effects of Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to soya, Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Avoid taking Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet if you have breast cancer, unexplained vaginal bleeding, blood clots or blood clotting disorder, liver disease, porphyria (a disorder in the formation of red blood pigment) or cerebral haemorrhage (bleeding in the brain). Avoid taking Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet if you are pregnant, as it may harm the unborn baby. You are advised to use effective birth control methods while taking Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet to prevent pregnancy. However, if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before taking Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet . Drive only if you are alert, as Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet may cause drowsiness or dizziness.

• Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet can be taken with or without food as advised by your doctor.• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.• Swallow Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.• Do not crush, break, or chew it.

  • Chest pain may last for a while and needs immediate medical attention as it is a significant health issue to be attended to.
  • Take rest and refrain from doing physical activity for a while, and restart after a few days.
  • Try applying an ice pack to the strained area for at least 20 minutes thrice a day. Ice pack thus helps reduce inflammation.
  • Sit upright and maintain proper posture if there is persistent chest pain. • Use extra pillows to elevate your position and prop your chest up while sleeping.

What if I have taken an overdose of Gestrone-SR 300 Tablet

Avoid exceeding the recommended dose as it might cause an overdose. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual symptoms.
