About Glimed M2 Tablet
Glimed M2 Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called anti-diabetic drugs used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, especially in patients whose blood sugar levels are not controlled by diet and exercise alone.
Glimed M2 Tablet contains Glimepiride and Metformin. Glimepiride helps the pancreas release more insulin, thereby lowering blood sugar levels. Metformin reduces the amount of sugar produced by the liver, slows down sugar absorption from food, and helps the body use insulin more effectively.

Glimed M2 Tablet is indicated in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Glimed M2 Tablet works by decreasing the amount of glucose absorbed from the food and the amount of glucose made by the liver. It helps the pancreas to produce insulin and helps the body use insulin efficiently.
Glimed M2 Tablet may increase the risk of low blood sugar levels, especially with alcohol intake, exercise more than usual, delay or miss snacks or meals. However, if you experience any signs of low blood pressure, such as dizziness, nausea, light-headedness, dehydration or fainting, please consult a doctor.
In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin as the islet cells (insulin-producing cells) in the pancreas are destroyed completely. In type 2 diabetes, though islet cells are working, the body doesn't respond to insulin as the body becomes resistant to it.
You are not recommended to stop taking Glimed M2 Tablet on your own as discontinuing Glimed M2 Tablet suddenly may cause recurring symptoms or worsen the condition. However, if you experience any difficulty while taking Glimed M2 Tablet , please consult your doctor so that alternative medicine may be prescribed.
You are not recommended to take Glimed M2 Tablet with phenytoin as it may reduce the effect of Glimed M2 Tablet and increase blood sugar levels. However, please consult a doctor before using Glimed M2 Tablet with other medicines.
