Glimifact MV 1 Tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It acts by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas. About Glimifact MV 1 Tablet

Glimifact MV 1 Tablet is an anti-diabetic medicine used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic or lifelong condition that affects the way your body processes glucose. People with type 2 diabetes either do not produce enough insulin or, if any insulin is produced, it is unable to perform its function in the body (insulin resistance).

Glimifact MV 1 Tablet is a combination of Glimepiride, Metformin and Voglibose which help control blood sugar levels. This medicine works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas. You must continue following the diet and exercise recommended for you whilst on treatment with Glimifact MV 1 Tablet .

Not everyone who is taking Glimifact MV 1 Tablet will get these side effects. The most common side effect of Glimifact MV 1 Tablet is hypoglycemia (low blood glucose levels), characterised by dizziness, sweating, hunger pangs, dry mouth and skin, etc. Other side effects include changes in taste, nausea, diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, and upper respiratory symptoms.

Glimifact MV 1 Tablet should be taken with food to avoid an upset stomach. For optimal results, it is recommended to take it at the same time each day. For better advice, your doctor will determine the appropriate dose, which can change quickly depending on your condition. Do not skip your meals, and also carry a form of sugar with you to prevent low blood sugar levels.

Avoid taking Glimifact MV 1 Tablet if you are allergic to it. Glimifact MV 1 Tablet should not be stopped even if you feel better without consulting your doctor, as sugar levels may change. How Glimifact MV 1 Tablet Works

Glimifact MV 1 Tablet is a combination of three antidiabetic drugs: Glimepiride, Metformin and Voglibose. Glimepiride, which is a 'sulfonylurea', acts by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas. Together, these prevent the blood glucose levels from rising to very high levels, thus keeping your diabetes under control.

What if I have taken an overdose of Glimifact MV 1 Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Glimifact MV 1 Tablet as it may cause overdose resulting in mild hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). If you suspect you have taken overdose or have symptoms of overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

Drug Warnings

  • Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Glimifact MV 1 Tablet .
  • This medicine should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or with diabetic ketoacidosis. Some diabetic patients, while taking Glimifact MV 1 Tablet , might develop a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis (too much lactic acid accumulated in the blood) that can damage the working of your liver and kidneys, which are required for the elimination of excess lactic acid from the blood.
  • Before you start taking Glimifact MV 1 Tablet , tell your doctor if you’ve ever had pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), kidney disease, or a low vitamin B12 level.
  • Glimifact MV 1 Tablet , when used with insulin, may extremely lower the blood sugar level, leading to a hypoglycemic condition, which can be fatal.
  • Prolonged intake of Glimifact MV 1 Tablet may lower your thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH); hence, an annual check-up of TSH is recommended.
  • In rare cases, you may also develop a serious skin reaction known as bullous pemphigoid that requires immediate medical attention.
  • It is always important to check for the expiry of the medicine. Discard the medicine if it reaches the expiry date.

  • Eat at regular intervals. Do not take the long gap between a meal or snack.

  • Invest in at least 150 min of moderate-intensity physical activity and 15 minutes of high-intensity exercise every week.
  • Lose weight gradually to achieve a healthy body mass index (18.5 to 24.9).
  • Replace refined carbohydrates-containing foods with wholegrain foods and increase intake of fruits and veggies and other fibre-enriched foods.
