Imigem 500 Injection 1's is used to treat severe bacterial infections of the lungs, heart, bladder, skin, kidneys, bones, joints, blood, stomach and female reproductive organs. Imigem 500 Injection 1's may also be used in the management of patients with low white blood cell count who have a fever, which is suspected to be due to bacterial infection. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Imigem 500 Injection 1's does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu. 
 
Imigem 500 Injection 1's is a combination of two drugs, namely: Cilastatin (dehydropeptidase inhibitor) and Imipenem (antibacterial). Cilastatin inhibits the dehydropeptidase enzyme, which causes the breakdown of Imipenem, thereby helps imipenem to stay active for a longer duration. Imipenem prevents the formation of the bacterial protective covering, which is necessary for the survival of the bacteria. Together, Imigem 500 Injection 1's helps to treat bacterial infections.
 
Imigem 500 Injection 1's will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, Imigem 500 Injection 1's may cause common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, swelling, and redness at the site of injection. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
 
Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Imigem 500 Injection 1's may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid alcohol consumption as it might cause increased dizziness and sleepiness. Imigem 500 Injection 1's should not be given to children below one year or those who weigh below 30kg with kidney problems. Imigem 500 Injection 1's is not recommended in paediatric patients with CNS infections due to the risk of seizures. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications to rule out any unpleasant side effects.

Do not take Imigem 500 Injection 1's if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have an allergy to antibiotics, colitis, gastrointestinal disease, urinary/kidney problems, CNS disorders, seizures/fits, or liver problems. Drug-Drug Interactions: Imigem 500 Injection 1's may interact with anti-viral (Ganciclovir), uricosurics (Probenecid), anti-epileptic (Valproic acid, Divalproex sodium), blood thinner (warfarin).

Drug-Food Interactions: No interactions found/established.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have colitis (inflammation in the lining of the colon), CNS disorders, hemodialysis, kidney or liver dysfunction.

• Antibiotics can alter the useful bacteria in the stomach, which help in digestion. Therefore, you are advised to take foods rich in probiotics such as yoghurt/curd, kefir, buttermilk, natto and cheese.
• Eat fibre-rich food like whole grains, beans, lentils, berries, broccoli, peas and bananas.
• Avoid foods rich in calcium, grapefruit and grapefruit juice as they might hinder the absorption of antibiotics.
• Avoid/limit the consumption of alcohol and usage of tobacco.

• Imigem 500 Injection 1's may cause abnormal Coombs, liver, blood, and kidney function tests. Inform the person doing the tests that you are on treatment with Imigem 500 Injection 1's.
