About Jacmod Tablet

Jacmod Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called painkillers, primarily used to relieve pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Pain is an unpleasant sensation and emotional experience that is associated with tissue damage. It allows the body to react and prevent further tissue damage. Pain can be short-term (acute) or long-term (chronic). Pain perception can differ from person to person, from tolerable to non-tolerable.

Jacmod Tablet contains Aceclofenac (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and Tramadol (an opioid analgesic). Aceclofenac works by blocking the release of chemical messengers, which are responsible for causing pain and inflammation. On the other hand, Tramadol blocks the transmission of pain signals to the brain, and as a result, pain perception is lowered.

Take Jacmod Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Jacmod Tablet causes some side effects like nausea, loss of appetite, vomiting, dizziness, indigestion, sleepiness, constipation, heartburn, stomach pain, and dryness in the mouth. Most of these side effects of Jacmod Tablet are temporary, do not require medical attention, and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

• Take Jacmod Tablet with or without food or as advised by a doctor.• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication, to ensure the safety.• Swallow the medicine as a whole with glass of water.• Do not crush, break, or chew it.

What if I have taken an overdose of Jacmod Tablet

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Jacmod Tablet may include the decreased size of the pupil (the black circle in the centre of the eye), difficulty breathing, slow or shallowing breathing, extreme drowsiness or sleepiness, inability to respond or wake up, slowed heartbeat, muscle weakness, cold, and clammy skin. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe these symptoms or think you might have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

Drug Warnings

It is recommended not to take Jacmod Tablet if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of Jacmod Tablet. Patients with stomach ulcers, gastric bleeding, severe heart failure, high blood pressure, and liver or kidney disease should not take Jacmod Tablet. This medicine is not recommended for use during pregnancy as it may cause fetal deformities. While Jacmod Tablet may pass in the lactating mother's breast milk, there is not enough evidence to establish the safety of Jacmod Tablet in nursing mothers. So, it is advisable to take it only if prescribed by your doctor. If you have a severe allergy to painkillers and have conditions like asthma, rhinitis, angioedema (swelling under the skin), or skin rashes, immediately stop taking Jacmod Tablet. Consumption of alcohol should be avoided during the treatment as it may lead to an increased risk of liver damage. Do not give your medicine to others, especially children, as Jacmod Tablet contains Tramadol, which may cause undesirable effects and sometimes death. Jacmod Tablet tends to cause stomach upset. Thus, consuming Jacmod Tablet with meals is recommended to minimize gastric side effects. If you have a peptic ulcer diagnosis, Jacmod Tablet is best avoided unless prescribed by your doctor. It can cause liver injury when taken in large doses. Concomitant use of alcohol is best avoided as it aggravates liver toxicity. Avoid using this medicine if you have kidney impairment, as it may worsen your condition. It contains Tramadol, which is a habit-forming drug. So, it should be taken for a short duration to avoid unpleasant withdrawal symptoms like breathing difficulties.
