Jeskof Syrup is used to treat dry cough in children. The detailed uses of Jeskof Syrup are as follows:

• Cough relief in children: Jeskof Syrup helps alleviate coughs caused by colds or respiratory infections in children.
• Treatment of allergic conditions: Jeskof Syrup helps to alleviate symptoms of allergies and respiratory infections, including runny nose and throat irritation, providing relief for patients.
• Decongestant: Jeskof Syrup works as a decongestant as it contains phenylephrine, which narrows blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing swelling and relieving congestion.

• Jeskof Syrup is indicated in the treatment of dry cough in children.
• It may also be used to treat whooping cough, smoker’s cough and allergic cough.
• Jeskof Syrup contains chlorpheniramine maleate (antihistamine), dextromethorphan hydrobromide (antitussive) and phenylephrine hydrochloride (decongestant).
• Chlorpheniramine maleate works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions.
• Phenylephrine helps shrink the blood vessels located in the nasal passage, thereby reducing the stuffy nose.
• Dextromethorphan hydrobromide works by blocking the transmission of nerve signals from the cough centre in the brain to the muscles that produce cough. Together, Jeskof Syrup helps provide relief from a dry cough.

• Jeskof Syrup can be given with or without food as advised by your doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions regarding the dosage and duration of the medication.
• Shake well before use. Administer the advised dose to the child using the measuring cup/measuring spoon/dropper.
• Avoid using regular household spoons, as they may not accurately measure the dose.

• Advise the child to wash their hands with soap and water regularly to prevent the spread of germs.
• Encourage the child to drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration and a dry throat.
• Gargling with salt water might help provide relief from a sore throat.
• Avoid giving citrus fruits to the child, as they may worsen the cough.

• Do not administer Jeskof Syrup to the child if they are allergic to any of its components.
• Inform the doctor if the child has kidney or liver problems, glaucoma, urinary problems, asthma, peptic ulcers, heart disease or if the child is taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
