Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet is used to treat Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), Pituitary Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Suppression (adjuvant therapy) and Thyroid Suppression Test (as a diagnostic agent). About Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet

Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet belongs to a class of drugs called synthetic thyroid hormones used to treat hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland). It can be used as an adjunct to surgery and radioiodine therapy in managing well-differentiated thyroid cancer. On the other hand, it can used as a diagnostic agent in the Thyroid Suppression Test. Hypothyroidism is a chronic condition in which the thyroid gland (located below the throat in the neck) cannot produce enough thyroid hormone.

Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet contains Levothyroxine that replaces thyroxine (a thyroid hormone) naturally produced by the thyroid gland. Thus, it restores the levels of thyroid hormones.

Take Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, dyspnea, headache, nervousness, irritability, insomnia, tremors, muscle weakness, increased appetite, weight loss, diarrhoea, heat intolerance, menstrual irregularities, and skin rash. Most of these side effects of Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet is not recommended to take if you are allergic to liothyronine sodium or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, if you have angina (chest pain when exercising) or conditions affecting your heart or circulation or if you are suffering from thyrotoxicosis, (illness due to over activity of the thyroid gland). Liothyronine Sodium Tablets may raise blood sugar levels, so if you have diabetes, please inform your doctor. Your doctor may check blood glucose levels during therapy. Before taking the Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet , let your doctor know about all your medical conditions, sensitivities, and medications you are using. Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Liothyronine should not interfere with your ability to drive or use machinery.

The detailed uses of Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet are as follows:<br/>• Hypothyroidism: Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet treats underactive thyroid when the gland doesn't produce enough hormones, helping restore normal metabolism and energy levels.<br/>• Thyroid Cancer: Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet is used as part of treatment (alongside surgery or radioactive iodine) to suppress thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), which can promote cancer growth.<br/>• Thyroid Function Testing: Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet is sometimes used in thyroid suppression tests to help diagnose thyroid disorders.<br/>

Directions for Use

• Take Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after food. • It is advised to take Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet once daily; however, follow your doctor's advice regarding the dosage and duration.• Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water.• Do not break, chew or crush Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet .

What if I have taken an overdose of Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet may include cold, clammy skin, confusion (about identity, place, and time), difficulty in speaking, dizziness, double vision, fast or weak pulse, headache or lightheadedness, inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles, inability to speak, loss of consciousness, nervousness, seizure, sensitivity to heat, slow speech, sweating, trouble sleeping, and weight loss. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe any symptoms or think you have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

Drug Warnings

It is recommended not to be used to suppress benign thyroid nodules and nontoxic diffuse goitre in iodine-sufficient patients and not indicated for treating hypothyroidism during the recovery phase of subacute thyroiditis. Also, inform your doctor if you have specific sensitivities to medicines and foods. Inform your doctor if you have uncorrected adrenal cortical insufficiency before taking the Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet . If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, use Linorma T3 20 MCG Tablet under the doctor's supervision or as directed by the doctor.

  • Iodine, zinc, and selenium are beneficial for people with hypothyroidism. However, avoiding iodine and selenium supplements is best unless your doctor advises you to take them.
  • In hypothyroidism, usually, there is a loss of calcium (hypocalcemia) and Vitamin D in our body. In such a case, people with hypothyroidism should opt for calcium-enriched foods.
  • Eat more protein as it may help boost your metabolism, as people with hypothyroidism usually have a slower metabolism.
  • Do regular yoga and aerobics exercises to boost your metabolism.
  • Eat more vegetables, fruits, and lean meats. These foods are low in calories and may help prevent weight gain.
  • Avoid taking Goitrogens (agents that interfere with the thyroid gland's normal function), which generally include soy foods (tofu), cabbage, broccoli, kale, cauliflower, spinach, sweet potatoes, cassava, peaches, strawberries, millet, pine nuts, peanuts, etc.
