Feeling unusually full after eating only a small amount of food can happen due to indigestion, acidity, gas, gastritis, stress, slow digestion, or stomach-related conditions such as ulcers or infection. Sometimes irregular eating habits, overeating spicy or oily foods, lack of sleep, anxiety, or constipation can also contribute to this problem. Try eating small, light meals more frequently instead of large meals, and avoid very oily, spicy, junk, or heavy foods for a few days. Eat slowly, chew food properly, drink enough water, and avoid lying down immediately after eating. Reducing tea, coffee, alcohol, smoking, and late-night meals may also help improve digestion. Simple foods such as rice, curd, soups, fruits, and easily digestible meals are usually better tolerated until the stomach settles. If symptoms are related to acidity or gas, a doctor may sometimes advise antacids or digestion-related medicines after proper evaluation. However, if you also have vomiting, severe stomach pain, weight loss, black stools, difficulty swallowing, persistent bloating, loss of appetite, or if the problem continues for more than a few weeks, you should consult a physician or gastroenterologist for proper examination and possible tests to identify the exact cause.
