About Mefanorm Suspension 60 ml

Mefanorm Suspension 60 ml belongs to a group of NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug) medicines used to provide relief from mild to moderate pain and inflammation associated with muscular, rheumatic, arthritic disorders, headache, trauma, dental pain, and pain after surgery or childbirth. Additionally, Mefanorm Suspension 60 ml is used to relieve period pain, premenstrual syndrome symptoms (PMS), and management of excessively heavy periods.

Mefanorm Suspension 60 ml contains 'mefenamic acid' which works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger in your body, known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical 'prostaglandins' (PG). These prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking COX enzymes' effect, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.
