About Metosartan CH 50 Tablet 10's

Metosartan CH 50 Tablet 10's belongs to the group of anti-hypertensive medicines used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Metosartan CH 50 Tablet 10's helps lower blood pressure, thereby reducing the chances of heart problems such as heart attack and stroke. High blood pressure is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels. Symptoms include headache, dizziness, nosebleeds, changes in vision, chest pain, weakness, and dyspnea (shortness of breath). However, most of the time, the signs and symptoms of hypertension are none.

Metosartan CH 50 Tablet 10's is a combination of three drugs, namely: Chlorthalidone, Telmisartan, and Metoprolol succinate. Chlorthalidone lowers blood pressure and swelling by removing excess fluid and electrolytes via urine. Telmisartan works by blocking the angiotensin II receptor, thereby relaxing the blood vessels and lowering the blood pressure. Metoprolol succinate slows down the heart rate and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body. Together, Metosartan CH 50 Tablet 10's helps treat hypertension.

Take Metosartan CH 50 Tablet 10's as prescribed. You are advised to take Metosartan CH 50 Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. Sometimes, you may experience common side effects such as headache, nausea, dizziness, stomach upset, and weakness. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Consult your doctor before taking Metosartan CH 50 Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Metosartan CH 50 Tablet 10's is not recommended for children as efficacy and safety have not been established. Metosartan CH 50 Tablet 10's may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol as it might cause increased dizziness. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking and your health condition to rule out any unpleasant side effects.

    Disease/Condition Glossary

Hypertension: The blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels leading to hypertension. High blood pressure is expressed as systolic/diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is the pressure in the arteries when the heart beats or pumps out blood. Diastolic pressure is the pressure in the arteries between the heartbeats. Blood pressure is measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg) by a blood pressure monitor called a sphygmomanometer. Symptoms include headache, dizziness, nosebleeds, changes in vision, chest pain, weakness, and dyspnea (shortness of breath). However, most of the time, the signs and symptoms of hypertension are none.
