It works by exerting its bacteriostatic effect against Mycobacterium tuberculosis by competing with PABA for enzymes involved in folate synthesis, thereby suppressing the growth and reproduction of the bacteria, ultimately leading to cell death.

Sometimes, you may experience common side effects like diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Most of these symptoms resolve gradually on their own over time. Do not take MONOPAS 150MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding as it may cause potential risk to the foetus and may pass into breast milk. Inform your doctor if you have nutritional issues like Vitamin B12 deficiency, iron deficiency, or malabsorption syndrome, as it may worsen these conditions, and you might need Vitamin B12 supplements. Do not take MONOPAS 150MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or if you have duodenal or stomach ulcer and myxoedema (a chronic disease caused by an underactive thyroid gland).
