About Montance-AD Tablet 10's

Montance-AD Tablet 10's is a prescription medicine used to help manage asthma, allergic bronchitis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and allergic rhinitis (hay fever). It contains three medicines that work together to help keep the airways open, reduce airway inflammation (swelling), relieve allergy symptoms, and make mucus easier to clear. This medicine is used for long-term control of these conditions and should be taken regularly as prescribed.

Take Montance-AD Tablet 10's exactly as directed by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve. It can be taken with or without food. Continue taking the medicine for as long as your doctor recommends to help maintain symptom control. Avoiding smoking, limiting exposure to allergens and irritants, and following your treatment plan can also help improve your respiratory health.

Like all medicines, Montance-AD Tablet 10's may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common side effects include headache, dry mouth, stomach discomfort, dizziness, or drowsiness. Some people taking montelukast have experienced serious mood or behaviour changes. Contact your doctor promptly if you or your family notice changes such as agitation, anxiety, depression, unusual dreams, or suicidal thoughts.

Before taking Montance-AD Tablet 10's, tell your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney disease, epilepsy, stomach ulcers, heart problems, or any other long-term medical condition. Also tell your doctor if you have ever experienced mood or behaviour changes while taking montelukast or similar medicines. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.

If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking Montance-AD Tablet 10's. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, and herbal products you use, as some may interact with this medicine. Older adults may require closer monitoring depending on their overall health and other medical conditions.

How Montance-AD Tablet 10's Works

Montance-AD Tablet 10's contains acebrophylline, desloratadine, and montelukast. Acebrophylline is a bronchodilator and mucolytic (a medicine that helps open the airways and makes mucus easier to clear). It combines a theophylline derivative, which helps relax the muscles around the airways to improve airflow, with ambroxol, which thins and loosens mucus so it is easier to cough up. Desloratadine is an antihistamine (a medicine that blocks the effects of histamine, a natural chemical released during allergic reactions). It helps reduce allergy symptoms such as sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, itchy nose, and watery eyes by blocking the action of histamine. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist (a medicine that blocks leukotrienes, chemicals in the body that cause inflammation, airway narrowing, and increased mucus production). It helps reduce airway inflammation, prevent narrowing of the airways, and decrease excess mucus production associated with asthma and allergic conditions.
