About Mucoscan-T Tablet

Mucoscan-T Tablet is used in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy (diabetic kidney disease). Diabetic nephropathy is kidney damage resulting from diabetes. It is a major cause of kidney failure. 

Mucoscan-T Tablet contains Taurine and Acetylcysteine, which belong to the antioxidant class. This medication functions by shielding the kidneys from damage caused by dangerous substances (free radicals), hence assisting in the reduction of free radical generation that damages tissue. 

Mucoscan-T Tablet may cause certain side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, fever, abdominal pain, and rash. If these side effects persist, consult your doctor immediately. Take Mucoscan-T Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.

Do not take Mucoscan-T Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Before taking Mucoscan-T Tablet , inform your doctor if you have any history of asthma, liver or kidney diseases, or any allergic reactions. What if I have taken an overdose of Mucoscan-T Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose. If you take more Mucoscan-T Tablet than you should, you may experience side effects. Contact your doctor or local hospital accident and emergency department immediately. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Mucoscan-T Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Before taking Mucoscan-T Tablet , inform your doctor if you have any history of asthma, liver, or kidney diseases, or any allergic reactions. Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Mucoscan-T Tablet . Mucoscan-T Tablet increases the risk of Steven-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome, characterized by severe skin rashes. So, stop taking this medication and consult your doctor immediately if you notice skin rashes. Mucoscan-T Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age.

  • Eat at regular intervals. Do not take the long gap between a meal or snack.
  • Lose weight gradually to achieve a healthy body mass index (18.5 to 24.9).
  • Replace refined carbohydrates containing whole-grain foods and increase intake of fruits and other fibre-enriched foods.
