MUSTONE TABLET 10'S

MUSTONE TABLET is used to treat myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness). Besides this, MUSTONE TABLET also treats paralytic ileus (a rare form of constipation), postoperative urinary retention, and prophylaxis against military exposure to any nerve poisoning gas. Myasthenia gravis is a long-term neuromuscular disease that leads to musculoskeletal weakness caused by excess activity of a protein (cholinesterase protein).

MUSTONE TABLET contains Pyridostigmine, which works by stopping the excessive cholinesterase activity (an enzyme required for the breakdown of a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine) involved in communication between nerve impulses and muscle movements.

In some cases, you may experience common side effects, such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, sweating, cough with mucus, rash, muscle cramps, and blurred vision. Most of these side effects will resolve gradually over time. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to it. Consult your doctor before taking MUSTONE TABLET if you are pregnant before taking MUSTONE TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. MUSTONE TABLET may cause dizziness and vision problems, so drive or operate machinery only if you are alert. • Improves muscle strength in myasthenia gravis: MUSTONE TABLET inhibits acetylcholinesterase, increasing acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction to enhance nerve signal transmission and improve voluntary muscle function.
• Reverses effects of non-depolarising muscle relaxants: MUSTONE TABLET used after surgery to reverse neuromuscular blockade caused by agents like vecuronium or rocuronium.
• Manages postoperative urinary retention and paralytic ileus: MUSTONE TABLET stimulates smooth muscle contraction in the bladder and intestines, making it useful in managing postoperative urinary retention and paralytic ileus.
• Used in military for nerve agent prophylaxis: MUSTONE TABLET is FDA-approved for prophylactic use against exposure to nerve agents like soman, used as part of military preparedness.

• Prolonged use of MUSTONE TABLET may cause gastrointestinal side effects due to increased gut peristalsis, causing abdominal cramping, frequent bowel movements, or diarrhoea. However, these side effects can be managed with OTC items and antidiarrheal preparations.
