Nalopid 0.4 mg Injection 1 ml is an opioid antagonist used to treat opioid overdose. This medicine is given as an emergency treatment where the use of high-potency opioids as a chemical weapon is suspected and as temporary prophylaxis of respiratory and/or central nervous system depression in military personnel and chemical incident responders.

Nalopid 0.4 mg Injection 1 ml contains Naloxone, which belongs to the class of opioid receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the effect of opioid receptors and blocks the effects. Thereby it helps treat opioid overdose.

Nalopid 0.4 mg Injection 1 ml may cause certain side effects such as nausea, vomiting, injection site reactions, dizziness, and headache.  If Nalopid 0.4 mg Injection 1 ml causes any serious discomfort, speak with a doctor. • Neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS): Nalopid 0.4 mg Injection 1 ml may be used in new borns who experience withdrawal symptoms due to opioid exposure during pregnancy. It helps stabilize breathing and neurological function.
• Postoperative opioid-induced respiratory depression: Nalopid 0.4 mg Injection 1 ml is administered to counteract slowed breathing caused by opioid medications given during or after surgery.
• Adjunct in opioid maintenance therapy: Nalopid 0.4 mg Injection 1 ml is sometimes included in treatment programs for opioid use disorder to prevent misuse and manage withdrawal symptoms.
