Nipoxitil-CV 200/125 Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used in the treatment of bacterial infections such as pharyngitis/tonsillitis, otitis media, sinusitis, community-acquired pneumonia, gonorrhoea, anorectal infections in women, skin, and urinary tract infections. This medicine contains cefpodoxime and clavulanic acid which works by inhibiting the protein synthesis of the bacterial cell and thereby helps fight infection-causing bacteria. Nipoxitil-CV 200/125 Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat various bacterial infections such as pharyngitis/tonsillitis (throat infections), otitis media (ear infections), sinusitis (infection of the sinuses), community-acquired pneumonia, gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted disease), anorectal infections in women, skin, and urinary tract infections. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. 

Nipoxitil-CV 200/125 Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics, Cefpodoxime proxetil (cephalosporin antibiotic) and Clavulanic acid (beta-lactamase inhibitor). Cefpodoxime proxetil works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thus, it kills the bacteria. Clavulanic acid works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of Cefpodoxime proxetil against the bacteria. Together, Nipoxitil-CV 200/125 Tablet helps to treat bacterial infections.

Co-administration of Nipoxitil-CV 200/125 Tablet with the Cholera vaccine may reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine.

How to manage the interaction:
Talk to your doctor before receiving the Cholera vaccine if you are currently being treated with Nipoxitil-CV 200/125 Tablet or have been treated within the last 14 days. To ensure adequate vaccine response, you should not receive cholera vaccine until at least 14 days after you complete your antibiotic therapy.
