About Oflox OZ Tablet 10's

Oflox OZ Tablet 10's belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections of the urinary tract, bacterial infections by inflammation of the peritoneum, eye and ear infections, skin and soft tissue infections, sexually transmitted infections, respiratory infections, vaginal infections, protozoan infections, intra-abdominal infections, and infections during surgical procedures. It is also indicated in the treatment of diarrhoea of mixed infections in adults.

Oflox OZ Tablet 10's is a combination of two antibiotic drugs, namely: Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase which is required for the replication, transcription, and repair of the DNA. Ornidazole inhibits protein synthesis and leads to cell death, thereby kills the bacteria. Together, Oflox OZ Tablet 10's helps in treating bacterial infections.

Take Oflox OZ Tablet 10's as prescribed. In some cases, Oflox OZ Tablet 10's may cause side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, and dizziness. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side-effects persist or worsen.

Talk to your doctor if you experience pain in tendons, swelling, and inflammation as Oflox OZ Tablet 10's is associated with an increased risk of tendon rupture and tendonitis. Directions for Use

Tablet/Capsule: Swallow it as a whole with water; do not chew, break or crush the tablet/capsule. Syrup/Suspension/Drops: Take the prescribed dose by mouth using the measuring cup/dosing syringe/dropper provided by the pack; shake the pack well before each use.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Oflox OZ Tablet 10's may interact with pain killers (aspirin, ibuprofen), antibiotics (azithromycin, sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim, metronidazole, erythromycin), corticosteroids (dexamethasone), anti-diabetic (metformin), bronchodilator (albuterol), and diuretics (furosemide).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid consuming milk and dairy products.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have colitis (inflammation in the lining of the colon), tendonitis (inflammation in tendons), CNS disorders, myasthenia gravis (neuromuscular disease), peripheral neuropathy (nerve pain), crystalluria (cloudy urine), diabetes, kidney, liver and heart problems.

    Can I take antacids with Oflox OZ Tablet 10's?

    Co-administration of magnesium and aluminium-containing antacids, sucralfate, and iron-containing preparations with Oflox OZ Tablet 10's may reduce the absorption. Therefore, you are advised to take Oflox OZ Tablet 10's two hours before such preparations.

    Can I take Oflox OZ Tablet 10's on my own?

    Do not take Oflox OZ Tablet 10's on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections.
