It is also used to treat post-operative infections, severe intestinal amoebiasis, and giardiasis.

Ornigyl IV Injection contains 'Ornidazole' that works by damaging the DNA of the infection-causing agent and inhibiting their growth. Thus, it treats infections. Ornigyl IV Injection is indicated in the treatment of acute and severe infections or when oral administration is not possible.

In some cases, Ornigyl IV Injection may cause common side-effects such as dry mouth, headache, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, nausea, and vomiting.
