Orziclav Tablet 1 belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, skin, bone, soft tissue, joints, urinary tract, and respiratory tract. Orziclav Tablet 1 may also be used to treat infectious diarrhoea. A bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria infect the body. Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in the body. Orziclav Tablet 1 does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.
Orziclav Tablet 1 is a combination of three drugs: Amoxycillin, Clavulanic acid, and Lactic acid bacillus. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for the survival of the bacteria. Thereby, it kills the bacteria. Clavulanic acid works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of Amoxycillin against the bacteria. Lactic acid bacillus is a probiotic that helps restore the balance of good bacteria in the gut, which may have been upset due to the infection. Together, Orziclav Tablet 1 helps in treating bacterial infections.
The dose and duration of Orziclav Tablet 1 can vary depending on your condition and the severity of the infection. Sometimes, you may experience side effects like skin rashes, nausea, vomiting, bloating, and gas. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Consult your doctor before taking Orziclav Tablet 1 if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Orziclav Tablet 1 may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Orziclav Tablet 1 to prevent unpleasant side effects. Orziclav Tablet 1 is safe for children if prescribed by a doctor; the dose and duration may vary depending on the child’s weight and the severity of the infection. Inform your doctor about all your medicines and health conditions to rule out any unpleasant side effects/interactions.
