About OXYPUR 400MG TABLET

OXYPUR 400MG TABLET belongs to the class of drugs called 'bronchodilators' primarily used to prevent and treat symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Asthma is a chronic (long-term) respiratory condition in which airways narrow, swell, and produce extra mucus, leading to difficulty in breathing. COPD is a group of lung diseases with emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of bronchial tubes).

OXYPUR 400MG TABLET contains Doxofylline that acts by inhibiting the phosphodiesterase 4 (PD-4) thereby relaxing the bronchial smooth muscle of lung's airways, making it easier for asthma and COPD patient to breath easily.

OXYPUR 400MG TABLET is available in injection, oral tablet and syrup dosage forms. A doctor or nurse will give the injection form of OXYPUR 400MG TABLET. The syrup form of OXYPUR 400MG TABLET should be taken with or without food as advised by your doctor. The tablet form of OXYPUR 400MG TABLET should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it. Your doctor will recommend you how often you take OXYPUR 400MG TABLET based on your medical condition. Some people may experience headache, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, irritability, insomnia (difficulty in falling or staying asleep) or fast heart rate. Most of these side effects of OXYPUR 400MG TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Doxophylline is contraindicated in acute myocardial infarction, low blood pressure (hypotension), lactating women and patients allergic to OXYPUR 400MG TABLET. OXYPUR 400MG TABLET should be used with caution in congestive heart failure patients as these patients have slow drug clearance leading to high blood levels even after stopping treatment with OXYPUR 400MG TABLET.

Directions for Use

Oral Tablet/Capsule: Use OXYPUR 400MG TABLET as prescribed by your doctor. Take OXYPUR 400MG TABLET with or without food and swallow the whole tablet/capsule with a glass of water. Do not break, crush or chew it. Liquid oral Syrup: Shake the bottle well before use. Check the label for directions and take OXYPUR 400MG TABLET in doses as prescribed by your doctor with the help of a measuring cup.Injection: Do not self-administer OXYPUR 400MG TABLET. OXYPUR 400MG TABLET is given as an intravenous (into a vein) injection by a doctor or nurse.
