About Plermin Gel

Plermin Gel belongs to the platelet-derived growth factors (PDGFs) class used to treat diabetic foot ulcers in people with good blood flow in the legs and feet. A diabetic foot ulcer is a common complication of diab­etes. Ulcers are formed due to skin tissue breakdown and exposure to underneath layers. Diabetic foot ulcers commonly develop under the big toes and balls of the feet. Also, they can affect the feet down to the bones.

Plermin Gel contains Recombinant Human Platelet-Derived Growth Factor BB (Becaplermin), which stimulates the growth of cells involved in wound healing. Therefore, it helps treat ulcers of the legs or foot in people with diabetes.

Plermin Gel is only for external use. Use Plermin Gel as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to use Plermin Gel for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. Some people may experience burning at the application site and red skin rash. Most of these side effects of Plermin Gel do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to Plermin Gel or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult your doctor before using Plermin Gel .
