Polymyx- B Injection

Polymyx- B Injection belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, meningitis, bloodstream infections, and corneal and subconjunctival eye infections caused by susceptible organisms.

Polymyx- B Injection contains Polymyxin B, which works by destroying bacterial cell membranes and killing infection-causing bacteria. Thereby, it helps treat bacterial infections.
 
In some cases, Polymyx- B Injection may cause side effects such as pain at the injection site, flushing, dizziness, and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, consult a doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Do not receive Polymyx- B Injection if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek medical attention if you experience symptoms of kidney problems (unable to pass urine, change in how much urine you pass), nerve problems (weakness, irritation, feeling sleepy, blurred eyesight, change in balance, numbness or tingling around the mouth or in the arms or legs, or trouble breathing), or Clostridium difficile associated diarrhoea/CDAD (stomach pain, cramps, very loose, watery, or bloody stool). Let the doctor know if you are taking any prescription/non-prescription medicines, including supplements or herbal products.
