Prodept Dry Syrup belongs to the group of cephalosporin antibiotics indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections. Bacterial infections occur when harmful bacteria multiply inside or on the body. Prodept Dry Syrup does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

Prodept Dry Syrup contains Cefpodoxime proxetil, which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Prodept Dry Syrup works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, Prodept Dry Syrup kills bacteria and helps treat bacterial infections.

In some cases, Prodept Dry Syrup may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), and abdominal pain.   • Prodept Dry Syrup can be given 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Try giving it to your child with food to avoid stomach upset.

  • Mix the dry syrup with boiled, cooled water to the mark on the label, then shake the bottle well.
