About Protoflox Eye Drop
Protoflox Eye Drop is used to treat bacterial eye infections, including conjunctivitis and ulcers of the cornea. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid.
Protoflox Eye Drop contains Ofloxacin, which works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) that is involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, it kills bacteria and clears infection.
Use Protoflox Eye Drop as prescribed by your doctor. Protoflox Eye Drop is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use Protoflox Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dry eyes, blurred vision, eye discomfort, eye redness, mild itching, or irritation in the eye. Most of these side effects of Protoflox Eye Drop do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using Protoflox Eye Drop as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that changes the colour of contact lens as it may be absorbed by soft contact lens. Benzalkonium chloride also causes irritation in the eye especially if you have disorders of cornea (transparent layer at the front of eye) or dry eyes. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before using Protoflox Eye Drop and reinsert them after 15 minutes after using Protoflox Eye Drop. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using Protoflox Eye Drop.
Protoflox Eye Drop may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.
Protoflox Eye Drop is not used to treat fungal infection in the eye. Protoflox Eye Drop is only used to treat bacterial eye infections.
You are not recommended to stop using Protoflox Eye Drop without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the infection. Therefore, use Protoflox Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it and if you experience any difficulty while using Protoflox Eye Drop, please consult your doctor.
