Prucalp 2mg Tablet

Prucalp 2mg Tablet is used to treat chronic idiopathic constipation (long-term constipation). Chronic idiopathic constipation is a condition where a person has infrequent, difficult, or incomplete bowel movements lasting for three months or more, without any known cause such as disease or medication.

Prucalp 2mg Tablet contains prucalopride, which works on the muscle walls of the gut to increase bowel movement, helping to restore normal bowel function and relieve chronic constipation.

Take Prucalp 2mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it to you. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as headache, diarrhoea, nausea, and abdominal pain. Most of these side effects will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Avoid taking Prucalp 2mg Tablet if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18 years old, as its safety is not established; Prucalp 2mg Tablet may cause dizziness and tiredness, so only drive if you feel alert, and always inform your doctor about your health and any medications you are using to prevent side effects or interactions.

Prucalp 2mg Tablet is used in the treatment of Chronic idiopathic constipation. The detailed use of Prucalp 2mg Tablet is as follows:

• Chronic Idiopathic Constipation (CIC): Prucalp 2mg Tablet stimulates bowel movements and improves colonic transit and gastric emptying.
• When Other Laxatives Fail: Prucalp 2mg Tablet is prescribed for adults who have not found relief from constipation despite using other laxatives.
• Relieving Symptoms: Prucalp 2mg Tablet helps to reduce symptoms related to constipation, such as bloating, discomfort, and straining during bowel movements.

• Prucalp 2mg Tablet can be taken with or without food.
• It is recommended to take Prucalp 2mg Tablet once daily or as advised by your doctor.
• Swallow Prucalp 2mg Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not break, chew, or crush it.

• Prucalp 2mg Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called gastrointestinal prokinetics, used to treat chronic idiopathic constipation (long-term constipation with no known cause).
• Prucalp 2mg Tablet acts on the muscle walls of the gut and increases bowel motility. 
• It helps restore normal bowel function and treats constipation.
• Prucalp 2mg Tablet helps to treat chronic constipation in adults in whom laxatives do not work well. 

• Do not take Prucalp 2mg Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components
• Also, avoid taking Prucalp 2mg Tablet if you are on renal dialysis, have perforation/obstruction of the gut wall, inflammation of the intestinal tract, Crohn’s disease, toxic megacolon/megarectum, or ulcerative colitis.
• Inform your doctor if you have AIDS, hormonal problems, neurological disease, suicidal tendency, mood disorder, cancer, heart, kidney, or liver problems.
• Avoid taking Prucalp 2mg Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Prucalp 2mg Tablet is not recommended for children below 18 years, as safety and effectiveness have not been established. 
• Prucalp 2mg Tablet may cause dizziness and tiredness, so drive only if you are alert.
