PTVS DUO Tablet 10's

PTVS DUO Tablet is used to lower bad cholesterol and triglycerides (type of fat) and increase good cholesterol levels. This reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke in future. High cholesterol, also known as Hypercholesterolemia, occurs when the unhealthy cholesterol balance is excessed in the blood. When the cholesterol level is high in the blood, your arteries get narrowed and clogged, contributing to heart diseases like stroke and heart attack.

PTVS DUO Tablet is a combination of Ezetimibe and Pitavastatin. Ezetimibe works by reducing the cholesterol absorbed in the digestive tract. Pitavastatin belongs to the class of statins or HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors that work by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme in the body that is essential to make cholesterol. Thereby, it decreases the production of LDL (bad cholesterol) by the liver. 

Take PTVS DUO Tablet as prescribed. Your doctor will advise you on how often you should take it based on your medical condition. Sometimes, PTVS DUO Tablet may cause common side effects such as headache, muscle pain or tenderness, joint pain, and weakness. Most of these side effects of PTVS DUO Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Ezetimibe, Pitavastatin or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are aged 65 years or older or drink excessive amounts of alcohol, please inform your doctor. Avoid using PTVS DUO Tablet if you are pregnant. Also, you are advised to use effective birth control measures while taking PTVS DUO Tablet to avoid pregnancy. Please inform your doctor if you are a breastfeeding mother. If you have any concerns regarding the use of PTVS DUO Tablet for children, consult a doctor. If you feel dizzy or sleepy after taking PTVS DUO Tablet , avoid driving or operating machinery. Maintain a cholesterol-lowering diet along with PTVS DUO Tablet for effective results.

PTVS DUO Tablet is used in the treatment of High Cholesterol. The detailed uses of PTVS DUO Tablet are as follows:

• Treatment of High cholesterol: PTVS DUO Tablet is used in the treatment of High Cholesterol.
• Management of cholesterol: PTVS DUO Tablet is used to manage primary hyperlipidemia and mixed dyslipidemia.

• PTVS DUO Tablet can be taken with or without food.
• It is usually taken at night, preferably at the same time each day, or as prescribed by your doctor.
• Swallow PTVS DUO Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew, or break it.

PTVS DUO Tablet belongs to the class of medicines called antihyperlipidemic drugs or cholesterol-lowering agents. It contains Ezetimibe and Pitavastatin, which are used to lower the levels of bad cholesterol and triglycerides (type of fat) and increase good cholesterol levels. This reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke in future. Ezetimibe reduces the cholesterol absorbed in the digestive tract. Simvastatin inhibits the production of cholesterol your body makes by itself. Also, it reduces the risk of stroke or heart attack by decreasing the excess cholesterol deposition in the major blood vessels of the brain and heart. PTVS DUO Tablet is used for patients whose cholesterol levels cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone.

If you are allergic to Ezetimibe, Pitavastatin or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Your doctor may recommend a blood test before and after you start taking PTVS DUO Tablet to check your liver function. If you are taking or have taken fusidic acid (antibiotic) orally or by injection in the last 7 days, inform your doctor, as the combination of fusidic acid and pitavastatin may lead to serious muscle problems (rhabdomyolysis). If you are aged 65 years or older, or drink excessive amounts of alcohol, please inform your doctor. Avoid using PTVS DUO Tablet if you are pregnant. Also, you are advised to use effective birth control measures while taking PTVS DUO Tablet to avoid pregnancy. Please inform your doctor if you are a breastfeeding mother. If you have diabetes or are at risk of developing diabetes, your doctor will monitor you closely while on treatment with PTVS DUO Tablet . You are likely to be at risk of developing diabetes if you have high levels of sugars and fats in the blood, high blood pressure and are overweight.
