About Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj

Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj is a recombinant version of the enzyme urate oxidase used to reduce uric acid levels in patients with leukaemia, lymphoma, and solid tumor malignancies receiving anti-cancer therapy. Leukaemia, or blood cancer, is a cancer of blood cells or blood-forming tissues. Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system.

Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj contains Rasburicase, which belongs to the class of recombinant urate-oxidase enzymes. It works by metabolising the recombinant urate oxidase enzyme and thus helps clear the uric acid levels.

Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj may cause certain side effects such as vomiting, nausea, fever, constipation, diarrhoea, oedema, headache, abdominal pain, anxiety, and injection site reactions. Most of these side effects of Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. A trained healthcare professional will administer Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj. Hence, do not self-administer.

If you are allergic to Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj, inform your doctor and avoid taking it. Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj is contraindicated for pregnant women and breastfeeding women due to serious fetal harm. Hence, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Inform your doctor if you have/had kidney or liver disease.

Uses of Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj

The detailed uses of Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj are as follows:
• Management of Tumor Lysis Syndrome (TLS): Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj is used to treat elevated uric acid levels resulting from rapid tumor breakdown during chemotherapy in patients with leukemia, lymphoma, or other malignancies.
• Prevention of Kidney Damage in Cancer Patients: Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj helps lower uric acid concentrations in the blood, reducing the risk of acute kidney injury caused by uric acid crystallization in the renal tubules.
• Enzymatic Conversion of Uric Acid: Rasburnat 1.5Mg Inj works by converting uric acid into allantoin, a more soluble and easily excreted compound, thereby facilitating rapid clearance from the body.
