Renoguard Tablet 10's is used in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy (diabetic kidney disease). Diabetic nephropathy is kidney damage resulting from diabetes. It is a major cause of kidney failure. 

Renoguard Tablet 10's contains Taurine and Acetylcysteine, which belong to the antioxidant class. This medication functions by shielding the kidneys from damage caused by dangerous substances (free radicals), hence assisting in the reduction of free radical generation that damages tissue. 

Renoguard Tablet 10's may cause certain side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, fever, abdominal pain, and rash. If these side effects persist, consult your doctor immediately. Take Renoguard Tablet 10's as prescribed by your doctor.

Do not take Renoguard Tablet 10's if you are allergic to any of its components. What if I have taken an overdose of Renoguard Tablet 10's

Do not take more than the prescribed dose. If you take more Renoguard Tablet 10's than you should, you may experience side effects. Contact your doctor or local hospital accident and emergency department immediately. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Renoguard Tablet 10's if you are allergic to any of its components. Before taking Renoguard Tablet 10's, inform your doctor if you have any history of asthma, liver, or kidney diseases, or any allergic reactions. Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Renoguard Tablet 10's. Renoguard Tablet 10's increases the risk of Steven-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome, characterized by severe skin rashes. So, stop taking this medication and consult your doctor immediately if you notice skin rashes. Renoguard Tablet 10's is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age.

  • Eat at regular intervals. Do not take the long gap between a meal or snack.
  • Lose weight gradually to achieve a healthy body mass index (18.5 to 24.9).
  • Replace refined carbohydrates containing whole-grain foods and increase intake of fruits and other fibre-enriched foods.
  • Monitor your blood sugar level and blood pressure regularly, especially when there are a lot of fluctuations.
