Rextro 50mg Tablet is used to treat a broad range of infections caused by fungi and yeast. A fungal infection is caused when a fungus invades and affects any part of the body, including the mouth, throat, oesophagus, lungs, bladder, genital area and blood.

Rextro 50mg Tablet contains ‘Voriconazole’ that kills or prevents fungi or yeast by inhibiting an enzyme in fungi which interferes with the fungal cell membrane's formation.

In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as vomiting, headache, nausea, abnormal liver function tests, rash, slow heart rate, and altered vision. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not take Rextro 50mg Tablet if you have had an allergic reaction to Rextro 50mg Tablet or any of its ingredients. Rextro 50mg Tablet is associated with liver toxicity, including fatalities in patients with other serious underlying diseases. Rextro 50mg Tablet is a pregnancy category D drug, so it should not be taken by breastfeeding or pregnant women. Antacid should be taken at 2 hours after taking Rextro 50mg Tablet.

• Treatment of fungal infections: Rextro 50mg Tablet helps treat serious fungal infections by preventing fungal growth. It is often prescribed for people with weakened immune systems.
• Invasive Aspergillosis: Rextro 50mg Tablet treats infections caused by Aspergillus fungi.
• Candidemia: Rextro 50mg Tablet helps with bloodstream infections caused by Candida species.
• Oesophagal Candidiasis: Rextro 50mg Tablet is effective against fungal infections in the oesophagus.
• Other Severe Fungal Infections: Rextro 50mg Tablet is used for Fusarium and Scedosporium infections.

• Rextro 50mg Tablet can be taken 1 hour before or 1 hour after meals.
