Medicinal Benefits

Spegra Tablet is an anti-retroviral drug used in the treatment of HIV-1 infection. Spegra Tablet works by interfering with the replication of HIV and preventing its further progression. It contains Dolutegravir, Emtricitabine and Tenofovir alafenamide. Dolutegravir works by blocking HIV integrase, which is responsible for integrating viral DNA into the host cell. Thus, it inhibits the integration of the viral component into the human body cells. Emtricitabine works by inhibiting reverse transcriptase, which is responsible for transcribing RNA to DNA. By blocking this action, emtricitabine prevents the proliferation of the virus. Tenofovir alafenamide blocks the enzyme polymerase, thereby preventing aggregation of viral components and terminating the DNA chain, thus effectively nipping viral replication in the bud.
