About Sumo Spray 50gm

Sumo Spray 50gm is a combination medicine used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, arthritis, and low back pain. Musculoskeletal pain could occur due to arthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, dislocations, problems with the bone structure or injury to the bones, joints, tendons, muscles and ligaments. Arthritis is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage.

Sumo Spray 50gm is a combination of six drugs, namely: Diclofenac, Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate, Eucalyptus oil, Camphor and Menthol. Diclofenac and Methyl salicylate work by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical prostaglandin (PG). By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Capsaicin exerts analgesic effect by blocking the pain messengers to the nerves. Eucalyptus oil helps in reducing inflammation. Camphor and Menthol provide cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. Together, Sumo Spray 50gm helps in providing relief from pain.

Sumo Spray 50gm is for external use only. Take pea-sized amount onto your fingers and apply it on the affected areas. You are advised to use Sumo Spray 50gm for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as application site reactions like itching, irritation, redness, and burning sensation. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Do not use Sumo Spray 50gm if you have had any recent heart surgery as Sumo Spray 50gm can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. Sumo Spray 50gm increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Do not take Sumo Spray 50gm if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. Sumo Spray 50gm is not recommended for children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid or limit exposure to natural or artificial sunlight as Sumo Spray 50gm may cause a burning sensation. Do not take any other NSAID's for pain relief along with Sumo Spray 50gm unless prescribed.
