About Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's

Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke in adults. Hypertension is a condition in which the force of blood against the artery walls is very high. It will be an addition to the workload of the heart and arteries.

Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's is a combination of three drugs, namely: Chlorthalidone (diuretic), Cilnidipine (calcium channel blocker), and Telmisartan (angiotensin II receptor blocker). Chlorthalidone belongs to the class of diuretics (water tablets) that work by increasing the removal of excess water and certain salts, such as sodium and potassium, from the blood. This removal of water from blood reduces the fluid volume circulating through blood vessels and improves blood flow. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker that acts on muscle cells in the artery walls and relaxes muscle cells. Thereby, it relaxes and widens arteries (blood vessels) and improves the blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart. Telmisartan works by blocking a hormone called angiotensin II in the body that causes the narrowing of blood vessels leading to high blood pressure. Thereby, Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's widens and relaxes blood vessels. Thus, it lowers high blood pressure.

Take Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dizziness, headache, low blood pressure, stomach upset, or tiredness. Most of these side effects of Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.

What if I have taken an overdose of Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's

Take Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's only as prescribed by the physician. Do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. If you suspect you have taken an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Maintain a low-salt diet and minimize eating processed foods as they contain more sodium. Try to replace salt with spices or herbs to add flavor to the food.

  • Do regular exercise such as cycling, walking, jogging, dancing, or swimming for a minimum of 30 minutes per day.

  • Chronic stress may also cause high blood pressure. Therefore, avoid stress by changing your expectations, reacting in certain situations, and doing activities that you enjoy by making time for yourself.

  • Maintain a diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy products.

However, if you experience loss of appetite, sudden weight loss or weight gain, weakness, muscle cramps, vomiting, nausea, decreased or increased urination, irregular heart rhythm, and fluid retention, please consult a doctor immediately. If you are supposed to use these medicines together, you are advised to contact your doctor so that the dose may be adjusted to use safely.

Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's may increase potassium levels in the blood. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid intake of potassium supplements and foods that are rich in potassium such as bananas, sweet potatoes, nuts, and noni juice with Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's as it may result in hyperkalaemia (high levels of potassium in the blood) and cause severe adverse effects such as irregular heartbeat, muscle paralysis, and kidney failure.

Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's may cause dizziness in some patients. Therefore, if you feel dizzy after taking Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.

You are not recommended to stop taking Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's without consulting your doctor even if you find symptomatic relief as it may worsen the condition. Therefore, take Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it, and if you experience any difficulty while using Telpax Trio-12.5 Tablet 10's, please consult your doctor.
