About TOCIN OINTMENT
TOCIN OINTMENT belongs to the class of aminoglycoside antibiotics. It is used for the treatment of bacterial eye infections. Bacterial eye infection occurs when harmful bacteria invade any part of the eye, such as the eyeball, conjunctiva, or cornea.
TOCIN OINTMENT contains tobramycin, an antibiotic that works by killing the infection-causing bacteria. Thus, TOCIN OINTMENT treats bacterial eye infections.
Use TOCIN OINTMENT as prescribed by your doctor. The common side-effects of TOCIN OINTMENT are eye irritation, feeling of having something in the eye, swollen/itchy eyelids, eye redness, increased tearing and inflammation of the cornea (clear front portion of your eye). Most of these side effects fade away gradually over time without the need for medical intervention. However, consult your doctor if you experience these side effects frequently.
TOCIN OINTMENT is for ophthalmic (eye) use only; do not inject or swallow. - Corneal Ulcers: TOCIN OINTMENT is used in combination with other antibiotics to treat corneal ulcers, especially those caused by bacterial infections.
- Eye Injuries or Foreign Body Removal:TOCIN OINTMENT is used to prevent infection in case of eye injury or after removal of foreign body from the eye.

- Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
- Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
- TOCIN OINTMENT is for ophthalmic use only. Not for injection.
- Do not touch the dropper tip or other dispensing tip to any surface since this may contaminate solution.

Taking Tocin Ointment with Cidofovir is not recommended, but can be taken if prescribed by a doctor. However, if you experience nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, increased or decreased urination, sudden weight gain or weight loss, swelling, shortness of breath, bone pain, muscle cramps, tiredness, weakness, dizziness, confusion, and irregular heart rhythm contact your doctor immediately.
