Trancodol La Injection 1ml belongs to the class of drugs called antipsychotics used in the treatment of schizophrenia. Also, it is used to control motor and speech tics of Tourette’s disorder. Schizophrenia affects the ability of a person to feel, think and behave clearly. Tourette's syndrome is a mental disorder characterized by uncontrollable, repetitive movements or unwanted sounds (tics). 

Trancodol La Injection 1ml contains Haloperidol which blocks the dopamine receptors in the brain, preventing its overactivity, thereby controlling psychotic illnesses and improving disturbed thoughts, behaviour and feelings in mental conditions such as schizophrenia.

Trancodol La Injection 1ml will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. Sometimes, Trancodol La Injection 1ml may cause common side effects such as drowsiness, tremors, neck stiffness, nausea or vomiting, increased salivation, and weight gain. Most of these side effects of Trancodol La Injection 1ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Haloperidol or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, inform your doctor before receiving Trancodol La Injection 1ml. Trancodol La Injection 1ml is not recommended for children. Dose adjustment may be required for elderly or physically unwell patients. Avoid driving until your doctor says it is safe, as Trancodol La Injection 1ml may impair your physical or mental abilities required for driving. You are recommended to avoid alcohol consumption with Trancodol La Injection 1ml as it may increase the effects of alcohol.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Haloperidol or other medicines. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, inform your doctor before receiving Trancodol La Injection 1ml. Drug-Drug Interaction: If you are taking medicines used to control mood swings or depression (nefazodone, venlafaxine, buspirone, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine, sertraline, lithium, chlorpromazine, citalopram, escitalopram, alprazolam), antipsychotics, antifungals (itraconazole, ketoconazole, pentamidine), medicines known to cause electrolyte imbalance, strong painkillers or tranquillisers, medicines used to treat irregular heartbeat (amiodarone, sotalol, quinidine, disopyramide), antibiotics (rifampicin, erythromycin, moxifloxacin, levofloxacin), medicines for Parkinson’s disease (levodopa), anticonvulsants (carbamazepine, phenobarbital), antimalarial (halofantrine), gastrointestinal medicines (dolasetron), anticancer drugs (toremifene, vandetanib), or HIV drugs (ritonavir), inform your doctor before receiving Trancodol La Injection 1ml.

Drug-Food Interaction: Inform your doctor if you are taking St. John's Wort (herbal medicine used to treat depression).

Drug-Disease Interaction: Avoid receiving Trancodol La Injection 1ml if you have severe depression, severe drowsiness due to illness, medicine or alcohol, Parkinson’s disease, spastic diseases, Lewy body dementia, or progressive supranuclear palsy (brain disorder). If you have dementia-related psychosis, have ever had bleeding in the brain, heart problems, low blood pressure, QT prolongation (rare heart disorder), tardive dyskinesia (uncontrolled movements of the mouth, tongue, cheeks or jaw), hyperthyroidism (very active thyroid gland), extremely high blood pressure, a sudden increase in body temperature, severe convulsions, liver disease, have or ever had fits, blood clots, inform your doctor before receiving Trancodol La Injection 1ml.

• Limit the intake of caffeine as it may reduce the effectiveness of Trancodol La Injection 1ml.
• Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Eat more fish, especially oily fish such as salmon, sardines, trout, mackerel, pilchards and herring.
• Cut down on sugars, salt and saturated fats.
• Drink adequate water to keep the body hydrated.
• Exercise regularly and maintain a stable weight as Trancodol La Injection 1ml may cause weight gain.
• Avoid the consumption of alcohol as it may increase drowsiness.

• Elderly patients (more than 65 years of age) with dementia-related psychosis treated with Trancodol La Injection 1ml can be at an increased risk of death. 

• Trancodol La Injection 1ml is not approved for the treatment of patients with dementia-related psychosis. 

Schizophrenia: It is a mental disorder that affects a person's ability to feel, think and behave clearly. Mania is a mental condition that causes intense excitement, high energy, and delusions (misbeliefs). Mania may occur due to lack of sleep or sleep pattern changes, high levels of stress, and alcohol intake. Seek medical help immediately if you have any self-harming or suicidal thoughts.
