TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET belongs to a group of medications called ‘antipsychotics’. It is used in the treatment of schizophrenia or psychosis. Schizophrenia is characterized by hallucinations symptoms (seeing or hearing things that are not real) and delusions (wrong beliefs). Manic episodes of excitement or depression characterize bipolar disorder. TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET prevents the occurrence of these symptoms.
TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET composed of three medications namely Chlorpromazine, Trifluoperazine, and Trihexyphenidyl. Chlorpromazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood. Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic that works on the nervous system and corrects some of the side effects occurring during antipsychotic treatment. Trifluoperazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood.
Take TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as nausea, constipation, sedation, dryness in the mouth, weight gain, orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), urinary retention, the Increased prolactin level in blood, dizziness, blurred vision, nervousness. Most of these side effects of TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.
Do not take TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET if you are allergic to TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET or any other ingredients present in it. Before taking TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET, talk to your doctor if you or your family have a history of hypertension, CNS depression, narrow-angle glaucoma, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, tardive dyskinesia, and have a history of dementia (memory loss). TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET is not recommended during pregnancy as it may affect the unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET. Please do not stop taking TRAZINE SC 50MG TABLET without your doctor’s advice as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms.
